Let’s learn to determine the right size for a laundry load and tips on starting the washing machine.
Overcrowding is never a good idea. This results in your clothing not coming out clean. There needs to be a certain amount of room in the washer for your clothes to move around. With them moving against each other helps get them clean. Make sure that the clothes are fully immersed in water as this helps the dirt, grime and sweat to be released from your clothes. Overcrowding can also cause your clothes to wrinkle since there isn’t enough room in the washer to move around. If your clothes are wrinkled from the washer to the dryer, that is a sign that you may have overloaded your washing machine.
If you have to push your clothes down to make room for more, then you’ve got way too many in there. The more often you use your machine, the easier it will be to judge when a load is too full. Take note if the following:
- A Small Load usually fills about 1/3 of your machine.
- A Medium Load fills the machine to about 1/2 full.
- A Large Load is around 3/4 full.
